The Emperors Guardian

The concept behind this piece was to create a character, who is a weathered war veteran, but is now a guardian to the Persian Emperor Darius. The Armour reflects the different cultures that the Persian empire encompassed at its height. The character itself posseses Greek hero proprtions, the shoulder and lower body armour is Greek style, the arm and shin guards are Greek style with Middle eastern engraving. And the Sword is a Chinese style scimitar

1. The base mesh was modelled in Maya, detailed in ZBrush
2. hair created using ZBrush 3.5 Zspheres, armour detailing using bew zsphere brushes.
3. All Textures painted in ZBrush and Photoshop.
4. Lighting is a simple 3 point light setup. The renders is directly from ZBrush. Post production in Photoshop.
