This project involved creating "3D mockups", of packaging designs. The client was after something photorealistic. In order to achieve a level of realism, that would hold up, I needed to actually model the boxes, mirroring the actual folds, and tabs of the packaging. Once this was done, I laid out UVs to specifically match, how the clients 2D designer had set out the flat designs. The lighting employed, was typical product studio lighting, with minimal/subtle reflection.
This was later rendered to a photorealistic level, using Blender for all the rendering and composting.
